I am so very excited to be launching what has been a dream of mine for some time now. I have always had a passion for encouraging people. I love sharing truth, information and resources that empower others to break barriers. I have a deep desire to help people overcome obstacles they believe are unsurmountable to achieve goals they view as unattainable. It is for that reason that I am launching April Showers, a platform that will be used to shower the world with information that encourages, empowers and excels. I plan to do this by sharing the valuable life-lessons and the arsenal of information, experience and resources I have collected throughout my own personal, educational and professional journey. If you are already familiar with my story, you probably understand why I am so excited about launching April Showers. For those who do not know my story, let me explain.

While I am beyond grateful for the life that I have today, one that is amazingly rewarding both personally and professionally, this was not always my reality. Of course I had big dreams for my life from a young age when story-book endings seemed like a reasonable expectation, but then….”life” happened. There was not one big cataclysmic event that knocked me off course. The shift was a slow and steady one. That is how it generally happens when we get off course; our daily life experiences form our belief systems, which in turn influence our decision-making, and our decisions dictate the course of our life. If only I knew that then, my path to the rewarding life I enjoy today would have likely been significantly shorter.

Oblivious to what was occurring, little by little; I shifted off course onto a path that stopped significantly short of my hopes and dreams. My life looked nothing like what I had once imagined and the chances of ever getting back on track seemed impossible. At 19 years old, I found myself a single mother and a high school dropout. My limited education made it difficult for me to earn the wages needed to cover rent and necessities. I had no choice but to live in a crime-ridden neighborhood that was less than safe. This was not the life I wanted for my son or for myself, but from where I was standing, it seemed like there was no way out, no way to possibly get back on track, back to the path that would take me to the hopes and dreams I once had for my life.

I was so wrong! There was a way, there is always a way, sometimes you just cannot see it from where you are, in the middle of your mess, far from your hopes and dreams. If someone had told me then, that someday I would be college graduate with multiple degrees, a multi-business/franchise owner, speaker, mentor and educational leader who is happily married to a great guy, I probably would have laughed at them. That would have seemed ridiculous and impossible to believe. Yet, here I am! I made it, and I want to share what I’ve learned along the way with everyone who will listen. I want to see others overcome, push past the barriers and realize their hopes and dreams just like I did. That’s precisely why I created April Showers. It is my hope that the information, life-lessons, resources and encouragement shared through the various April Showers platforms will change minds and change lives. So, if you are ready to be empowered, if you are ready to shake off fear, doubt, limiting beliefs and anything else that has caused you to settle where you are, if you are ready to take your life back, you’ve come to the right place!
